Brake lock up rumble problems. [Not a bug]

Post by Crabash »

This could be nothing to do with Fanaleds.
I own the Clubsport Wheel (BMW rim) and the Clubsport V2 Pedals. (both on USB)
Fw V037
Driver V144

My problem is that my pedal does rumble but it is delayed quite a lot.
Along with the brake pedal rumble I get a severe juddering of the wheel, not rumble. However it does it much earlier than the brake pedal rumble i.e at the right time.
This happens with the same severity no matter what settings I use on the wheel, in game or in Fanaleds, on iRacing and Simraceway, not tested on other games.

As I said it prob is not a Fanaleds issue, just hoping someone has knowledge of this problem as I cannot find anyone with this issue on the net.

BTW when using Fanatec software to test functions all work as they should.

Currently 92, but have tried various settings from 70-100.
I have continued testing everything I can think of, I can feel the rumble motors in the wheel too if I turn it on in Fanaleds, it's just this judder, it's a violent and very fast but small oscillation via the FFB. But only when I lock the brakes up.
I actually fear for the health of my wheel.

I am now pretty sure it's not a Fanaleds issue.

It feels like the FFB test in the Fanatec software if you try to hold the wheel still.

Does it feel that strong? Would it be possible to test around without Fanaleds running?

edit: What drivers and firmware are you running?

Its not quite as strong but it's not far off.
Just removed fanaleds, reinstalled drivers and FW (144/037) and re calibrated.
Still the same, seems to be some sort of effect kind of like axle tramp if you know what that is?

Thanks for trying to help btw.

I can't really imagine what it would feel like, perhaps a video of the problem, if possible, could explain it a little.

Anyway, I would contact Fanatec if I were you.

Yeah I'm starting to think there is something wrong with it. Seems to make no difference what I do, and even with FFB turned right down it's still doing it.

Will keep at it as Fanatec is closed for the weekend anyway I would assume.
I'll try and catch it on video and post it as it might be useful to someone else.

Not the best vid and does not show how strong it is, but hopefully you get the idea.

So, the part at the end I assume when you slam the brakes? It even sounds wrong IMO, I never heard the CSW make such a noise...

Btw, if you're using Fanaleds with iRacing you have to disable the native Fanatec wheel support.
