Raised this before on LFSForum but still having no luck.

Fire up fanaleds, fire up LFS, /insim 29999, and in game it says;
InSim : port 29999
InSim - TCP : Fanaleds 2.3i
InSim : version 0 requested - using 6
InSim guest closed : Fanaleds 2.3i

In Fanaleds we have;
Status: Running
Game: Live For Speed
Car: none
Wheel: Logitech G27
Pedals: none
Display: none
Active profile: Live For Speed

in the lfs.cfg (after using the 'setup games automatically' wizard):
OutSim Mode 0
OutSim Delay 1
OutSim IP 127.0.0.1
OutSim Port 0
OutSim ID 0
OutGauge Mode 1
OutGauge Delay 1
OutGauge IP 127.0.0.1
OutGauge Port 30000
OutGauge ID 0

Lastlog shows this;

I've had this working on previous versions of LFS so not sure why it's not working now.

Do you maybe have something like a virus scan? Maybe that's blocking the socket communication. When I get home tonight I'll compare all your settings with mine to verify they're OK, but they look fine.

Nothing other than the stock windows defender.

I've gone through and completely opened 29999 and 30000 on both inbound and outgoing connections in Windows Defender, as well as opening all ports for both the LFS and Fanaleds executables, no luck.

So this is only with 0.6N? I'll have to update and try that myself tonight to see what my results are.

It's been doing it since K, if I remember correctly.

Here are my LFS settings:

OutSim Mode 0
OutSim Delay 1
OutSim IP 127.0.0.1
OutSim Port 0
OutSim ID 0
OutGauge Mode 2
OutGauge Delay 1
OutGauge IP 127.0.0.1
OutGauge Port 30000
OutGauge ID 0

My Fanaleds also says guest closed, but everything keeps working. Do other games work properly?

Yup, you've got the same settings as me. (as I'm sure you're aware Outgauge mode 1/2 just means in race/in race+replay)

Works fine with dirt rally, ets2 and assetto corsa.

To update this, I've managed to get this working, but I don't quite understand what's going on yet!

So, I tried running LFS as an admin. Confusingly, it seems to be using the cfg.txt in the install folder now, but what cfg.txt was it using before?!?!?!? Evidently it's a different one, somewhere else. I'll try and track it down. I have no idea what the insim/outsim/outgauge settings in that cfg.txt are since I have no idea where it is. But I'm impressed that LFS is deciding not to use the cfg in the same folder as the EXE and is using one in a completely different location. Amazing.

Works fine once you run it as admin (and close LFSLazy but that's no issue).

Aaaaaand gotcha.

Appdata>Local>VirtualStore>Program Files>LFS

Outgauge was set to port 11111, hence lack of any feedback.

All sorted now, works with LFSLazy running too, billy bonus.

The strange things Windows does with LFS sometimes.
