Failed to start Fanaleds 2.0 (XP / Vista) [solved]

Hi,

I am using Windows XP SP3 and after installing of Fanaleds 2.0 I got an error message (translated from hungarian):


Component cannot be found (text in header)
Failed to start the application, beacuse d2d1.dll cannot be found. Reinstall of application may solve the problem.

Everything still works if you go back to 1.6a? Have you already tried 2.0a?

With version 1.6a everything works fine.

I already tried 2.0a, but I also have the same error with 2.0a.

I'm not sure what you mean with that?

We haven't tested this with Windows XP, so I can't really help you further right now.

Did you try to Google the problem? I believe it's a 'common' error. Perhaps there's also a common solution.

I meant to provide any required data of my rig to improve the help-process.

I tried to google, and downloaded d2d1.dll. Put that into system and FanaLEDs program directory, but have a newer problem (Entry point of procedure (_ftol2) not found in DLL (msvcrt.dll))

Sorry, can't help you with that. We'll have to find another XP machine to try it out.

First try and update your directX to the latest version, does it fix anything?

Have tried reinstalling the above packages, does not help the situation

Found the issue, apparently I used a library that's not fully supported under XP (and hopefully Vista).

Expect a fix for this soon.
